the british newspaper the "guardian" claims governor scott walker was getting political donations from people in the lead paint industy.. and then benefted from state laws. laws. now assembly democrats are using that article to tear into the governor... questioning how rich donors may have influenced current state law. cbs 58's kyle aevermann joins us live in milwaukeeto explain. kyle? the "guardian" claims to have gotten the information leaked from the john doe investigation. a new report links 750-thousand dollars in 'political contributions from the lead paint industry' to the political group wisconsin club for growth.that group that helped the republicans during the recall elections both before and after those donations-republicans pushed through legislation that helped to protect lead paint manufacturers from lawsuits. democrats held a press conference yesterday showing a large scale check written to a third part organization. the

questioning how donors like this have influenced current state laws. state rep. peter barca (d) 64th district03:59:10-31 because scott walker asked corporate money was given. because scott walker asked money was funneled to shadowy third party groups. the second question it begs is what did they ask for in return. it raises so many questions on what they asked for in return and what they were provided in return. walker's campaign spokesme responded to the guardian article saying "as widely reported two years ago, the prosecutor's attorney stated that governor walker was not a target. several courts shut down the baseless investigation on multiple occasions, and there is absolutely no evidence of any wrongdoing." governor walker is expected to talk about the dot budget proposal today. what does that mean for drivers in our area? we'll talk about that coming

a milwaukee man has been charged in a drunk driving crash that killed two women and seriously hurt another over the weekend. last night a vigil was held to remember the women. 3 heddinger was celebrating her 24th birthday when the s-u-v she was riding in crashed into a utility pole.police say the driver-- 24-year-old tre-jon price -- was speeding near 32nd and atkinson in milwaukee... when he lost control at a curve.tests show price's blood alcohol was point-09.people also grieved the loss of 26-year-old tamika washington... who family tells us was pregnant at the time of her death. 1:07 "and she left behind a two year old. im sure her family is just as devastated as we are" are" 3 court documents show a third passenger had part of her left arm amputated and is now breathing with the assistance of a ventilator. 3 3 new this morning---?arrests? in the credit card skimming cases at local gas pumps. police in the elm grove-brookfield area made

assistant chief of police in elm grove tells me... they arrested two men from ?florida? in connection to the credit card skimming case at jilly's in elm grove.they're expected to be in court either today or tomorrow. state inspectors are now checking local gas pumps... ?searching? for skimmers.in our area, skimmers have been found in franklin, brookfield, and elm grove. grove.i joined one of the inspectors... as he searched for potential problems.i also learned about a new tip that could help you ?avoid? problematic pumps. 3 nat pop @ 18:36 "what we're looking for here is there's nothing attached."it's happening right now at gas stations across wisconsin-- including ?this one? in waukesha. state inspectors are searching for ?credit card skimmers?--- devices designed to ?steal? your information. they've ?already? discovered 15 in the state. inspector mike pappas found one in frankl. franklin.6:21 "that was my first thought, how many people had used that pump in the timeframe when that device was put in and when i found it. 6:28 we have no idea when it was installed." 6:30their

10:30 last night near 16th and . oakdale.cbs 58's julie parise is there now with the latest on the investigation.julie? we're told an officer pulled up to this part of the street to respond to an assault report.as he parked his van and was getting out of the car, he noticed another car driving toward him very fast that's when he jumped back in the take a look at these pictures from the accident.you can see the drivers side door is completely destroyed. the police officer was fine, but the suspect drove off in what officers believe was a black sedan. officers are investigating the incident, anyone with information about the accident is asked to call the mount pleasant police department or crime stoppers. live in mt pleasant im jp cbs 58

people on the east side of milwaukee say they're concerned about safety... after a number of shootings.. robberies.. and aggressive panhandlers. "we have some individuals who come down here to prey on peopl" people."that was the police captain of the district. he shared a number of ?personal? stories about incidents he's seen. he says... on tuesday morning... he wrestled down a pan handler who beat up an employee at the public offenders office... because she refused to give him money. statistics show property crimes.. car thefts.. and up. now people who live in the area are fed up. and ?businesses? say they're suffering too. 3 :24-43 right now, we think it's solved by police attention if not attendence. attendence.we nee to have trained law enforcement professionals to deal with violent crime, we also need to look at violent crime somewhat as an epidemic, look at it from a mental health point of view, how can we intervene and stop violent crime from becoming contangious 3 3 lderman kovac also mentioned

transportation. the proposal would cut nearly 450 (m) millon dollars from state highway programs.so what exactly does that mean? mean?cbs 58's kyle aevermann joins us live from the zoo interchange in milwaukee to explain. kyle? governor walkers solution could mean major setbacks on construction for projects like the zoo interchange. those delays would be as much as two years.... all because the proposed budget currently would dollars for these road projects.however, it would add nearly 70 million dollars more for mainenance and 65 million dollars more for local govenments.in the past, governor walker said he made a promise not to rase gas taxes or regestration fees. gov. scott walker/r-wisconsin: "my position is pretty clear... when i ran for re-election... i said i wasn't going to raise the gas tax or vehicle registration fees
